The Phytoxil Garden
General Public
Activation
PublicisLive Paris comes up with the Phytoxil Garden to provide Parisians and tourists alike with an oasis of freshness and well-being during the Paris 2024 Games.
context
Phytoxil wanted to offer passers-by a refreshing break during the hustle and bustle of the 2024 Olympic Games at the very heart of Paris, with a garden created along the Quai Jacques Chirac. The challenge? To create and maintain a green oasis at the very heart of the city.
big idea
An immersive garden where visitors can breathe cool air thanks to its giant water mister and its herb garden including the plants used in the cough syrup’s composition, such as thyme and mallow.
A bountiful garden where visitors can also relax thanks to yoga classes, a swing, DIY workshops and healthy beverages.
A responsible and eco-designed garden centred around a number of commitments:
Inclusion and accessibility:
· Universal accessibility: the garden is fully accessible to persons with reduced mobility (it includes an access ramp, signposting, flat surfaces, etc.).
· Family areas: areas dedicated to families offering child-friendly activities and rest areas for parents, along with suitable infrastructures (coffee tables, shaded areas).
· Inclusive activities: activities catering to people of all ages.
Environment:
· Materials : the agency opted to lease the materials used (decorations, plants, etc.) and ensured that reusable materials (artificial plants, wood, etc.) were used.
· Redistribution : the elements that were manufactured or purchased were then distributed to Sanofi’s partner associations:
- Le Paysan Urbain: armchairs + coffee tables + bicycle
- La Sauge: swing + benches
· Limited use of plastic: very little single-use plastic. Reusable water bottles were distributed to the teams on site and a water fountain was provided.
· Biodiversity: pollination spaces were created.
OUTCOMES
Our aim was to offer visitors to the Olympic Games an oasis of freshness and well-being fully covered with greenery. The garden is located in the very heart of Paris and gives visitors an opportunity to feel the full force and benefits of nature, just like Phytoxil’s products do. This vast pop-up project was also a sustainability challenge. Everything was prepared with sustainability in mind, enabling the plants and materials installed to be given a second life.
