Global summits

In a drive to boost
technological and
social innovation
in Europe,
PublicisLive Paris
came up with
the idea of
Viva Technology,
Europe’s biggest
tech event,
in 2016 and has
designed and produced
it ever since.

context

2016: the Publicis Group was turning 90 and, for the occasion, came up with the idea of a large-scale event that would benefit the French economy. The term “French tech” did not yet exist at the time, but its community certainly did. It simply needed a meeting point to get together: and so Viva Technology was born!

big idea

Viva Technology: Europe’s biggest tech meet-up tailored to businesses, start-ups, investors, decision-makers and talent

An event based on a simple principle: to bring together major groups and start-ups so that they can join forces and speed up the digital transformation while also giving start-ups an opportunity to scale up!

A 3-day B2B event and 1 day open to the general public
A mix of conferences, innovations, experiences and meetings with brands, hackathons and side events to get together and think up ways to develop the vibrant and responsible tech universe of tomorrow.

An event including world-renowned speakers
Such as Emmanuel Macron, John Kerry, Volodymyr Zelensky, Elon Musk, Jack Ma, Bernard Arnault, Satya Nadella, Mark Zuckerberg, Serena and Venus Williams… The whole world meets up in Paris once a year.

An event addressing a whole variety of themes
Be it FemTech, Tech for Good, the Future of Sport, the Smart City, New Tech Frontiers...: each edition emphasises poignant themes that will drive tech and society forward. Even with dedicated areas such as the AI Avenue in 2024!

An event celebrating a different country each year
South Korea, India, Japan… Who knows which will be next?

An event decorated with impactful graphics and imaginative scenographies
PublicisLive Paris thought up a graphic and scenographic grammar that would take people by surprise and rise to the challenges facing our environment, with a suitable choice of materials and a vision of how some or all of the elements could be reused or redistributed.

An event constantly striving to be exemplary
Viva Technology is also very much a laboratory for testing out and creating the eco-design best practices of tomorrow. This is an ambitious goal which was rewarded in 2024 when Viva Technology obtained ISO 20121 certification after 8 years of R&D.

OUTCOMES IN 2024

  • 165,000 visitors
  • 13,500 start-ups
  • 3,500 exhibitors
  • +400 speakers
  • +2 billion people reached via social media
  • +400,000 business connections
  • 95% of materials used in Viva Technology’s scenographies recycled
  • 25% of service providers taking diversity & inclusion initiatives, including 3 ESATs (vocational rehabilitation centres)
  • Catering providers systematically offering at least one vegetarian option

From its very first edition, VivaTechnology has shaken up the codes and conventions of events management by taking a brazen and creative approach to its scenographies and value propositions. And we certainly intend to carry on doing so. The 10-year edition already promises to be exceptional!
